Vietnam, the world’s second-largest rice exporter, shipped 184,558 metric tons from the start of the year to Jan. 19, the Vietnam Food Association said in a statement dated January 19.

The country, which exported a record 7.11 million tons in 2011, according to the group, may ship as much as 7 million tons in 2012, the government said on Jan. 9, citing the association.
